Peter L. Amara, AIA, NCARB
Peter graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1995. For the first several years of his career, he worked for architectural firms in Connecticut and New Jersey including Herbert S. Newman and Partners, P.C., DiCara | Rubino Architects, BL Companies, and Kaestle Boos Associates. Throughout his career, he has fulfilled roles as Project Architect and Project Manager supervising many mid-size and large-scale commercial projects from conceptual design to project completion. He holds professional architectural licenses in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. He is currently NCARB Certified, an active member of the American Institute of Architects and has participated in the ACE Mentoring program.
David L. Amara, PE, CDT
David graduated from WPI University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1996. He attained a Masters of Business (MBA) from the University of Hartford in 2006. His twelve years of engineering experience include civil and structural design, ranging from concrete and steel framed buildings to below grade concrete structures. This experience has come from working at such firms as OldCastle Precast, Maguire Group and Hilti Inc. As a specialist in post installed anchor design, he has seven years of experience conducting seminars on anchoring systems and consulting with structural engineers in the design of these systems.He holds a Professional Engineering license in Connecticut and he is a Construction Document Technologist (CDT). He is affiliated with the Connecticut Chapter of Structural Engineers.
Carlos A. Colon, RA
Carlos graduated from UPPR with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2004. He also graduated from CCSU with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2006. For the first several years of his career, he worked for architectural firms in Connecticut including Silver Petrucelli. Throughout his career, he has fulfilled roles as Project Architect and Project Manager supervising many mid-size and large-scale commercial and residential projects from conceptual design to project completion. He holds a professional architectural license in New York.
Justin C. Petersen, LEED AP
Associate, Project Manager
Justin graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute with a Diploma in Architectural Drafting and CAD Technology in 1995. After working as a general contractor for several years, he became an owner of Petersen & Son General Contractors, responsible for designing, building, and managing residential and commercial construction projects. He also has experience serving as a project manager for McGuinness Excavation, where he was responsible for supervising the construction of many new homes and small commercial buildings. He has been responsible for designing a wide range of commercial, residential and institutional projects at Amara Associates. With extensive construction experience and a high level of expertise utilizing architectural drafting software, he produces documents of exceptional quality. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and he directs all sustainability matters on projects that desire certification.
