Amara Associates is an architectural and structural engineering partner who is well-equipped to support owners and developers on new construction and renovation projects within the hospitality industry. 

Whether we are dealing with a renovation or new construction, we work to provide AE services across various facilities including hotels and resorts, event centers, conference facilities, and related commercial spaces.  

We've worked with a range of clients across Connecticut, and recently were awarded the Community Impact Award from CrewCT for our work on the Bristol Event Center and Home2Suites in Bristol, Connecticut.

​Amara Associates played a key role in the design and structural engineering of the $80M Bristol Event Center (BEC) and the adjacent Home2 Suites hotel. The project spans 188,385 square feet, combining hospitality, event, and conference spaces, with the Bristol Event Center  featuring a 9,400 SF grand ballroom, commercial kitchen, conference room, and an 11,600 SF outdoor event space. The design focused on modern elegance with clean lines, maximizing natural light, and providing varied spatial volumes to enhance the guest experience.

Throughout the design and development phase, the event center evolved many times, growing from a single event room, to what is now the completed 57,715 SF, two-story state-of-the-art facility. The development faced several engineering challenges, including aligning structural columns between the Bristol Event Center, hotel, and subterranean parking, as well as managing a high water table. Despite these obstacles, the project was successfully completed with a focus on sustainability and long-term community impact that will lead to the creation of jobs and bring thousands of people to Bristol annually – driving the local economy. This achievement reflects the collaboration between Amara Associates and its partners in design, engineering, and construction, contributing to local job creation and economic growth.​
